I had a blast creating handmade Valentine’s Day cards with the ladies of Craft Box Girls last Thursday at Paper Source. It was a nice break from our busy schedule to just relax and do what we love most. My creative juices were flowing high and crafting with my favorite DIY girls make the event so much more inspiring. I learned so much and wondered why I haven’t stayed in the loop about all these paper crafting trends like marbleizing paper and embossing powder. I was totally slipping!
We made four Valentine’s Day cards that I thought were absolutely darling! I think I’ll just keep these for myself. Here are some photos from the workshop. The ladies at Paper Source were very creative and knowledgeable. You have to take a workshop from them one of these days.
In case you don’t know who is who, the first picture is Lynn Lilly, CBG CEO. Then there’s Rosanna, CBG’s Chief of Operations, looking at Laura, DIY blogger, layering her floral card. Then there is me, CBG Director of Content, showing off my cupid arrow card. Below is Lynn marbleizing a sheet of Luxe White paper in grey and white.
After the marble paper is dry, I ran the heart through an X-Box to make the blush heart adhesive for the marble paper to stick without curling. I stamped the heart with a Love stamp on clear ink, sprinkle embossing powder on it and melt it down with a torch for a copper sealed look. It’s like magic! Here is another card using embossing powder and watercolors.
Here are the other two cards we made. I’m so inspired to make a ton of cards just because!
If you love these Valentine’s Day cards as much as I do then swing by any craft store and look for embossing and cardmaking supplies today!
Happy Valentine’s Day
